FAQ

How is the WARDOGS level calculated?
It is the total of your six class levels. In the verified screenshot the player shows WARDOG LEVEL 37 built from assault 5, medic 5, recon 3, support 9, driver 5 and pilot 10, which adds up to exactly 37.
Is it better to level one class or all of them in WARDOGS?
All of them. Each class pays 200 XP for its first level, 750 for the second, 1,250 for the third, 3,000 for the fourth and 6,250 for the fifth, so the first five levels of six classes cost far less XP overall than deep levels in one.
What does the L2A6 tank cost to unlock in WARDOGS?
The progression screen lists the L2A6 heavy armored vehicle at $500,000 to unlock, gated behind WARDOG LEVEL 35. The unlock price and the level gate were both captured during the beta playtest.
What recon level unlocks the SKS in WARDOGS?
Recon level 5. The vendor card reads "Reach Recon Lvl 5" and prices the SKS at $2,400, with the SVD at recon 12 and the BMR-308 at recon 30.

Why Is My WARDOGS Level Going So Slowly?

Because you are almost certainly grinding the wrong thing. The level in the top-right corner is not an experience bar of its own — it is the sum of six independent class levels, and every one of those classes has its own cheap-to-climb first five levels. Spread your effort and the headline number moves; bury yourself in one class and it stalls.

This walkthrough rebuilds the whole progression screen class by class, using the numbers actually printed on the UI rather than the pre-launch guides that were written against an older XP curve.

Nova Gaming — How To Level Up FAST In WARDOGS (full guide)

Step 1: Read Your Level as a Sum, Not a Bar

Open PROGRESSION and the left column tells the whole story: a big WARDOG LEVEL number over six class tiles. In the verified screenshot the player is level 37, and the tiles underneath read assault 5, medic 5, recon 3, support 9, driver 5, pilot 10. Add them up: 37 exactly.

Step 2: Climb the Cheap Rungs First

Each class ladder is priced the same way: 200 XP for level 1, 750 for level 2, 1,250 for level 3, 3,000 for level 4, 6,250 for level 5. Those first five rungs are the cheapest overall level in the game, and they are available in all six classes at once. Deep levels cost more and only advance one tile.

The other half of the same coin is not running dry between contacts, and the video’s ammo tip is an inventory one: buy loose ammo by the stack instead of by the magazine, because a full stack holds roughly 80 rounds across two slots where magazines manage about 20.

WARDOGS equipment vendor loose ammo tab with the standard, flesh damage and armor piercing categories and a nine millimetre full metal jacket ammo box description Step 2 (2:02) — The vendor splits ammo into STANDARD (FMJ), FLESH DAMAGE (HP) and ARMOR PIERCING (AP), and the entry 9 mm standard stack listed at $15 in this build. More rounds per slot means more fights survived, which is what the cheap XP is actually made of.

Step 3: Assault — Kills With Rifles, Gates at 10, 20 and 35

Assault XP comes from assault rifles on enemy players, nothing subtler. The vendor ladder is the useful part: the A-91 is free, the T-21 costs $800, the AK74 $1,600 and is the first real upgrade, then Galil at assault 10, M4 at assault 20, FAL at assault 35.

Step 4: Medic — Revives Are the Fastest XP in the Game

Medic XP comes from three actions: reviving, healing, and being the one carrying the right tool. The medical tab prices the entry items honestly — the resuscitation mask is free, the first aid kit $200, and the Field Resuscitator $500 for 0.39 kg, described as a single-use field revive that “revives teammates faster” and rewards medic XP. Two slots on the same screen are gated at medic 14 and medic 24.

Step 5: Recon — Spot First, Buy the SKS at Level 5

The starting scout sniper does not one-tap anything and is not worth the XP. Instead, buy binoculars and simply spot enemies while you play assault or medic — spotting pays recon XP with no commitment. Recon level 5 unlocks the SKS, a $2,400 semi-automatic marksman rifle in 7.62×39mm that the video rates among the strongest guns available, followed by the SVD at recon 12 and the BMR-308 at recon 30.

Step 6: Support — The Expensive Class, and Worth It

Support is the hard one early: all you have is a shotgun and a small hammer that can barely afford a Hesco wall. The ladder is also the most expensive on the screen — Light Drill $10,000 at level 1, C4 at level 2, a real hammer at level 3, then RPG-7 at level 5 for $30,000, a reusable 93 mm launch tube rated against infantry and light armour. If you would rather spend five grand a shot than thirty grand on a launcher, the drone route is in our Stingray drone walkthrough.

Buy it with logistics work instead, which is exactly what the accordion below covers.

So how do I actually level support?

Support XP leaks in from the two vehicle classes. Drop logistics crates at your FOB from a Huey and the video reports roughly 500 support XP plus 500 piloting XP per run, and the same pallet broken open by a teammate pays again. A Ural carries two pallets where the Huey carries one, so the truck doubles the rate once you can afford it. The buying and unloading mechanics are step-by-step in our logistics guide.

Step 7: Driver and Pilot — One Boring Trip Buys You a Truck

The reported shortcut: be in base at the moment either team hits 20 points on the score bar, when every squad’s spawn APV appears, and drive that vehicle all the way to the zone. One trip, however dull, is said to land driver level 4 and a pile of cash — enough to reach the Ural in our vehicles guide. Pilot is the slower grind; its ladder runs into rank-badge tiers well past level 35, and the flight fundamentals are covered in our helicopter flight walkthrough.

Watch the driver and pilot section (8:40)

Step 8: What the Total Level Actually Buys

Because the headline number gates the big prizes. The clearest example sits at WARDOG LEVEL 35: the L2A6 heavy armoured vehicle, listed at $500,000 to unlock, three crew, main gun plus .308 and 5.56mm, described in-game as “highly effective against all ground targets”. The video’s operating-cost figure for running it was about $14,000 plus ammo per spawn — a beta number, and one to re-check before you plan a round around it.

Leveling Rules of Thumb

  1. Six tiles, one number — a neglected class is the cheapest level you are leaving on the table.
  2. Front-load everything — 200 and 750 XP rungs exist in all six classes; take them before deep-grinding any one.
  3. Buy XP with logistics, not with shotguns — pallet runs pay support and a vehicle class at the same time.
  4. Spot before you snipe — binoculars make recon XP while you are still playing assault.
  5. Pick your gate — better armour and attachments scale off the overall level, so decide whether you are racing to 35 or to a weapon tier in our best loadout guide before you spend a match.
